ACT Art Conservation provides discreet, high-level care for private art collections throughout the San Francisco Peninsula, the greater Bay Area, and beyond.

We work closely with collectors, families, and advisors to maintain and preserve significant collections within the home—supporting artworks across primary residences, secondary properties, and evolving living environments.

Much of our work is conducted privately and is not publicly documented.

Our Approach

We approach each collection as a whole, providing continuity of care as artworks are lived with, moved, and expanded over time.

For many of our clients, we serve as the conservator responsible for the collection across multiple properties; ensuring that each work is consistently maintained, monitored, and preserved to museum standards regardless of location.

Even with contemporary collections in excellent condition, early conservation involvement allows for a proactive approach; establishing proper handling, maintenance, and environmental awareness from the outset to prevent issues before they arise.

Collection Care Across Properties

We regularly care for collections that span multiple residences throughout the Bay Area, including San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and surrounding regions.

Our work often includes coordinating care between properties, supporting the movement and installation of artworks, and maintaining a consistent understanding of each piece over time.

This approach allows collections to evolve naturally while remaining stable and well cared for.

Working Within the Home

Our work is designed to integrate seamlessly into the home environment.

We collaborate with collectors, art advisors, designers, and household teams to ensure that artworks are properly maintained while being thoughtfully lived with.

Regional and International Care

While much of our work is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we also support clients nationally and internationally.

We are experienced in working across multiple locations and can travel with clients and their collections to provide on-site conservation, installation oversight, and advisory services wherever the collection resides.

Discretion and Standard of Care

We maintain a limited number of private collection clients to ensure the highest level of care, discretion, and availability.

Each collection is approached individually, with methods and protocols tailored to the specific needs of the artworks and the spaces in which they are installed.
