PEST MANAGMENT & ANOXIC FUMIGATION

Artworks, furniture, fashion and objects made of organic materials are all susceptible to pest infestations. Active infestations can cause significant damage to an object if left untreated such as holes in fabric, large hollow passages in wood and losses in fur, leather and paper. Our team offers a non-invasive and pesticide-free treatment through anoxic fumigation. The pest infestation is exterminated by containing the artwork in a custom enclosure and maintaining oxygen levels below 1% for several weeks.

This process provides an alternative to traditional fumigation chemicals, allowing us to safely treat an object without any residues or visual change.

Throughout the treatment period, which may extend over several weeks depending on the specific needs of the object and the severity of infestation, meticulous monitoring ensures the stability and efficacy of the anoxic environment. Continuous assessment of oxygen levels, temperature, and humidity levels guarantees optimal conditions for pest eradication while safeguarding the integrity of the artwork.

Anoxic treatment offers numerous advantages over traditional fumigation methods. It is non-invasive, posing minimal risk to delicate materials and surfaces. Moreover, it eliminates the need for harsh chemicals, ensuring that no residues or visual changes occur to the object being treated. This eco-friendly approach aligns with contemporary conservation ethics, prioritizing the long-term preservation of cultural heritage while minimizing environmental impact.
